  Before he could pick her up, she took a step back. “I’m not ill.”

  “You need to be back in bed,” he ordered, ignoring what she’d said.

  When he reached for her again, she slapped at his hands. “Orion, I’m not sick.”

  “You are!” he insisted with panic in his voice. “I will not lose you—!”

  “I’m not sick, I’m pregnant!”

  Everyone froze at her announcement, but she didn’t look away from Orion. His eyes were wide, and she sensed his shock. He held onto her shoulders as he whispered, “How is this possible?”

  “I don’t know. I think the Dragon Warrior, Eden Nazira, healed me back on X21. I’m not sure why she would have done it, but that is the only explanation I could think of.”

  “She healed you in exchange for the blanket you gave her. It must be why you had such a strange reaction when she touched you.”

  “That’s a pretty uneven exchange.”

  “But for a Dragon Warrior, magic is easy. It would be nothing to her.” He moved his hands up to cup her face. “We’re truly going to have a baby?”

  “Yes,” she whispered. Tears streamed down her face as she felt his happiness at the news. She held onto his forearms, and smiled up at him.

  “Happiness cannot describe what I’m feeling. I love you, Morgan. This is a wonderful gift we have been given.”

  “I love you, too,” she murmured before his lips claimed hers. Love flowed between them, and Morgan felt as if her heart were going to burst.

  When they broke apart, Raiden stepped up next to them. “Let us all share in this joyous news! To the next generation of D’Sils!”

  When all the warriors cheered, Morgan looked around at all the smiling faces and realized that she had everything she’d ever wanted. She belonged to a clan of wonderful people, lived in a palace fit for royalty, and had the male of her dreams by her side. Now, they would have a child to love and care for. She had it all.

  “You are better than a dream, my love. You are everything. You are the keeper of my heart.”

  And she was his, body, heart, and soul.
